Chicago Bears Ladies

What is the best type of car / SUV to drive on Route 66 bearing in mind theres goin to 4 adults in the vehicle?
We intend rent a car in Chicago O'Hare and then driving on Route 66 in mid-November to Las Vegas …. The places you should visit on the way …. where beer is cold and the ladies are hot?!
It's OK to drive route 66 all the time you usually drive in a Mustang or a jacket. If coming in November should not be a problem …. like snow! With luck, the only states that have snow on your case are IL, MO, and OK. However, if you plan on driving old route in New Mexico, and having the drive to Oatman (I recommend), then I would say anything with 4 wheel drive would. However, no lead large SUV like a Suburban. Too big for some of the twist and turns on the mountain. Here are some of my favorite places: In Illinois there are several places I like to go. First for the best food in IL on Route 66 that I like Dell Ray Chicken Basket. Even the owner's family is very funny and always there. He is very well informed about the route and the people who live there. Secondly I want to make the River Restaurant. Well I would not eat here, but to visit a madness! The restaurant is in the basement of the kitchen has become a cave. Al Capone and his gang used to stop here. On the back have a restored dining car age of the 40's what a gem and a great place to see on Route 66! Then there Funk Out of Shirley Grove IL. They sell maple syrup (yes that's how you write) here. This family business has existed before Route 66, which makes the best maple syrup candy and all! In Atlanta have IL Route 66 Park, which has a silencer these are really old difficult to find. That once the road were all 66 and now only a few remain. They did a great job and restore a site to be seen! Henry's Rabbit Ranch is also very cool. Henry is trying really hard to preserve the memories of Route 66 and has made "mini" milestones on the route of 66 other attractions. He even has a sign is here, in Arizona. A must stop in IL! MO-Well I live in Missouri, and we have some great sites in 66. First, an obligatory stop Ted Drew's been here forever and the BEST cream frozen around. This position some cream is very proud of their heritage of Route 66 and has been named to 66 attractions in road. Fantastic Caverns in Springfield MO is large, walk through family ownership has been here several times and continues to improve. There are also caves Merimec? Throughout Route 66 can find stalls that have painted their information, this place has been a stop on the route of the family for years, is a wonderful place, and one of the best caves in the vicinity. The whole unit in southern Missouri, on Route 66 is great. Small towns have worked really hard to keep the road in good condition and preserve places in small towns. The unit on the outskirts of Carthage is incredible! You can go over old bridges in the foothills of the MO. Wonderful ride here! OK-still can be found in parts of the old road to unity and when I say old I mean a lane brick road! OK has done a wonderful job of preserving Route 66! The blue whale is a must! I deviate from my path just to see the blue whale! Also, the world's largest pole in the totem is Foyil and is a site to be seen! El Reno Route 66 is a wonderful city to visit, have a wonderful museum that I love! There is also the Rock Cafe, which was offered on cars, best cake around! The round barn in Arcadia has for years is tourist delight, love the place! TX-Cadillac Ranch! Way cool roadside attraction, nothing you've ever seen! Take a little spray paint and tag name. You will not spend a lot here, but I love to go, knowing that hundreds of people were here before me! The Big Texan is also there, and has been in several movies. Home to the 72 ounce steak, cool place to eat and see! Adrian Cafe is also here this is the midpoint the route! They have the best food map and the people here are just wonderful! They will tell stories and answer questions only show great hospitality. Again this is a place that I will pull out of my way to stop in! Glenrio, ghost town breathtaking! The old buildings are incredible to see and the road turns to dirt here. If you close your eyes you can hear the sounds of the old Route 66. I love to stop here is a great opportunity to experience the ancient route only. NM is great, because if you do your research may lead parts of Route 66 that are still unpaved. It became a paved road that has been added to the latter, and here You can find old pieces of the road. The other good thing that I remember as we were driving these parts in some places you could still see the marks of the railway wagons and large grooves on the side of the road were made by them. You will find yourself alone for hours like it used to be. Well there are a couple of cool places to stay in NM. My favorite has to be the Blue Swallow. This place is still awesome! The blue neon socks fall. It has been restored and yet even his little garage, now that is cool! I will never forget this place. There's also a very famous El Rancho Hotel in the old movie of stars stayed here and all rooms are now the name of a star. Located in the heart of the city also have a very good restaurant on site. Tee Pee NM Curios also in a tent-old is still fun to go to! Gallup has the best shop around and is home to Native American Nations. They are always with a Pow Wow or something here. They also have the best buying Native American jewelry at all! I also like Gallup, because the kitchen of El Rancho wonderful eats! Also one can see the Continental Divide, which runs along the border of NM and AR, which will never forget. Oatman unit is incredible! For registration of the AAA's advice. You twist and turn through the mountains with no guard rail. The views are breathtaking! This is one of the most photographed of Route 66 and this unit has been used in movies, television shows and commercials. I love driving this part and again I leave my route just to drive it! The speed limit is 35, but it will less than that, take a very narrow road in the mountains and is embraced by their side, then appears the slowdown in the city. This used to be a ghost town but AZ is working really hard to make a stop on Route 66. Old gold and silver fill the area and decreases the original donkeys used for work in mines still roam the area. Do not feed them, but do not be surprised when you are walking around town! They have an old room is now back in business and the Oatman Hotel is open, is like stepping back in time here. The unit actually does think about what life and this small town on the route only seals treatment! Leaving Oatman to hit the Joshua trees and the beauty of CA! Barstow is in the oasis in the desert of California and the city has some large hotels or shops that have State Route 66 forever! They have a great museum there. Side note with an In-N-Out Burger. Okay so were not in the original route, but I lived in SD and CA this is a must! Of course passing through Los Angeles and Hollywood, which only seem to have lost its appeal of Route 66, but a stop at the pier is a must! This is the end point and a beautiful place to see I suppose if I had to pick a favorite thing then would have to say the people of Route 66 is my favorite thing. I met so many wonderful people who have been willing to share their stories, family histories, and knowledge of Route 66. The people are wonderful and always welcome you with open arms. I've learned a lot of people on Route 66, their stories and their history is something you can never learn in a textbook. They are trying to preserve our past, who are trying to preserve our memories and that run between his memories and all worth visiting. Hope this helps, best I can suggest is to contact the visitor center towns along Route 66 to be visited. E-mail and tell them you are traveling on Route 66 and will be sent a map, information and other useful tools! With a little research you can travel the original route and see some real sights wonderful way to America.
