Previews Major League Baseball in 2007: Red Sox

The 2007 lineup for the Boston Red Sox looks pretty questionable to date. Most of the gardens of Boston lost a good deal of the season, including his most recent outfielder, JD Drew, who is known for their health problems. Because these things and more, this season will probably be very hard for the Red Sox.

Jason Varitek is 35 and declining rapidly toward retirement. His defense is decreasing, and his OPS + dropped a whole 40 points. The knee injury did not help him during the summer either. But Varitek has yet to show some resistance, despite its reign as the best offensive catcher is more.

Many people were impressed with the 91 walks that first baseman Kevin Youkilis drew last year and the fans are expecting more of the same. Despite not playing at home, Fenway Park, which has yet to play a good game. Dustin Pedroia finally has a chance to shine this season. Although it has not worked well when given the chance, some important improvements that come from him this year. Lowell is commonly regarded as an assistant with a glove as long as the ball is within range. Lowell catch a lot of balls coming into their area, but lacks the range. It also has a tendency to fall into the latter half of the season.

Julio Lugo, shortstop Bostons' for 2007, is in a good position for this year. This largely holds, but here is why is perfect for the office: during his career at Fenway Park, had a career OPS of .880, and can steal about 25 bases, play solid defense, and a score of over .800 OPS. Hence its perfect positioning at shortstop. Not much to say about the designated hitter Red Sox. David Ortiz is one of the best hitters in baseball and the Red Sox should be able to depend on him to many races.

The pitching rotation goes as follows: Curt Schilling, Josh Beckett, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Jonathan Papelbon and Tim Wakefield. Schilling is forecasting for this year and is Wakefield. Papelbon suffered shoulder injury recently, pitching more innings and 120 than it did last year is not going to treat that injury at all.

The projected closers for this year are pretty bleak future. Last season, Donnelly made his highest ERA, and the worst K / BB in his career. Pinieiro not been better in recent two years, so the bullpen could be very ugly this year.

The biggest thing that will affect Boston, most of this year, is the bullpen. Probably will cost them their shot at the division. They have no players from either end, and Delcarmen and Hansen are clearly not ready for the big leagues, so Boston is on the left wide open at this point.
